Photek manufacture a range of gate units so our image intensifiers and PMT’s can be used as ultra fast electronic shutters. This technique is useful when the image intensifier is used in high brightness situations or when capturing very fast moving objects. The gate units operate by turning the photocathode on and off down to 3 ns. For situations where it is useful to gate the MCP Photek manufactures the GM-MCP.

 

 

IGC - The Intensifier Gate Controller (IGC) provides a range of gating facilities including pulse width, pulse delay and an internal clock generator. Settings may be changed by sending simple ASCII commands via a RS232 link from a computer or via a simple keypad interface on the front panel of the unit. A front panel LCD display shows the current status and status of the controller.
